The Biggest Bluff

A new poker book is coming out soon, The Biggest Bluff by Maria Konnikova. I can’t wait to read it.

But I have to, as it won’t be available for another week. In the meantime, here’s a link to a fascinating excerpt. The author – previously mentioned in this blog here – somewhat accidentally became a professional poker player as a by-product of learning the game as a form of experiential research into the role of luck in our lives and how the mind handles luck in situations involving high levels of risk and/or uncertainty.

Read the excerpt. Any attempt to summarize it here would likely fall short. Maybe after reading the full book I’ll feel more confident about posting a review.
